# Find the questions your customers want answered

A research workflow for service businesses and education: real customer wording → grouped questions → three useful social content topics → alternative opening lines. It stops before scripting or video production.

**Free public resource. No signup or email required.** Any optional 1:1 booking is separate from access to this skill and prompt.

**For today's workshop, the quickest route is the [copy-and-paste prompt](COPY-PASTE-PROMPT.md).** Add your business details and enable web search if available. You can install the skill later if you want to reuse the workflow. The attendee kit includes these instructions, prompt, examples and the skill ZIP; upload only the inner `customer-question-research.zip` when installing.

## Choose how to use it

| Option | What you do | Practical difference |
|---|---|---|
| Paste a prompt | Copy [COPY-PASTE-PROMPT.md](COPY-PASTE-PROMPT.md) into a new chat and fill in your brief. | No skill installation. Instructions apply in that conversation; paste again in a new one. |
| Claude web / desktop chat | Upload [customer-question-research.zip](customer-question-research.zip) through Skills. | Reusable instructions Claude can load when relevant. Mention the skill by name in your request. |
| Claude Code, local terminal | Put the extracted folder in your project's `.claude/skills/`. | Reusable project skill; invoke `/customer-question-research`. |

A skill is a folder with a `SKILL.md` instruction file and optional supporting files. This package contains only that file: no code, dependencies or account connections. A skill saves the procedure; your prompt still supplies the business and goal. It does not add web access or unlock private customer data. ## Claude web setup

1. Enable **Code execution and file creation** (or **Create and edit files**) in Settings → Capabilities. Your organization may manage availability.
2. Open **Customize → Skills → + → Create skill → Upload a skill**.
3. Upload `customer-question-research.zip` as supplied, then enable it.
4. Start a new chat, enable web search if available, and paste the example request below with your details.

Those are the labels in the official instructions checked on 4 November 2026. If your menu differs or skills are unavailable, use the pasteable prompt. [Anthropic: use skills in Claude](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/12512180-use-skills-in-claude).

## First request

```text
Use customer-question-research.
Business and website: [name + public URL, or a short description]
Specific service/course: [one offer]
Market: [country/city + language]
Intended buyer: [who chooses/pays; learner separately if applicable]
Goal: [what customers should understand or decide]
Existing evidence: [attach anonymized FAQs, questions, reviews, notes, or none]
Research current public customer questions and relevant competitor explanations.
Give me three prioritized topics with two alternative opening lines each.
Show the sources, separate customer wording from your interpretation,
and flag facts I need to verify before using a topic. Stop before scripting.
```

No website yet? Describe the service honestly. Claude can research the category, but it should label that evidence and leave your own offer details unverified. Remove names, contacts and identifying details from private examples before supplying them.

See [EXAMPLES.md](EXAMPLES.md) for service and education inputs plus a worked public-source example. A useful answer lets you trace each topic to an actual question. Read those sources and confirm your business's answer before using the opening lines.

## Claude Code setup (optional)

Extract the ZIP. Copy its `customer-question-research` folder into your project so the final path is:

```text
your-project/
  .claude/
    skills/
      customer-question-research/
        SKILL.md
```

Start Claude Code in that project and type `/customer-question-research`, followed by the brief above. Personal installation at `~/.claude/skills/customer-question-research/` is an alternative for all local projects; it is unnecessary for this workshop. [Claude Code: skill locations and invocation](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/skills).

Current official docs also describe one-way account skill sync for Claude Code **2.1.273 or later**, signed in with the same Claude account. Older clients and API-key sessions should use the folder route. We tested the local folder route on 2.1.218; account sync and web upload were not tested. [Anthropic: Claude Code sync](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/12512180-use-skills-in-claude).

## What has been checked

See [VALIDATION.md](VALIDATION.md) for the sample invocation and exact limits. The ZIP/folder layout follows Anthropic's packaging instructions; the installed web experience still needs a user-side check. Public sources can be blocked or sparse. In that case the workflow should tell you what is missing instead of inventing evidence.
